Dawning Light

Dawning Light refers to the experience of restoring health and wellness after a time of illness.  Illness, whether acute or chronic, can be compared to the darkness before the dawn. The experience of illness is often accompanied with a feeling of the unknown, which can make us feel powerless.  And just as the night is darkest before the dawn, we can even begin to lose our hope because nothing seems like it is getting better.  When we have a healing experience, it feels like a great light has been shown into our very being, illuminating who we are and what makes us tick.  This light often reveals our true priorities and helps us to renew our perspective in life. The journey to health can impart valuable knowledge about ourselves on a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual level.  It provides us with an understanding about how to maintain our health and why it is so important to do so, enabling us to live a more happy and fulfilling life.

A Unique Perspective

Often times, all that is needed to find a solution is a new way of looking at a problem. Dawning Light offers this unique perspective, leaving no stone unturned to determine the root cause of the ailment.  No matter what condition we may be experiencing, it is important to acknowledge that we are not our condition but simply experiencing the effects. Our true identity is that of a healthy, whole individual that has the ability to heal.  The goal at Dawning Light is to enable our innate healing ability, removing factors that obstruct this process (toxins, infections, stress) while supporting our healing process with nutrition, gentle body care and natural medicines.

Your Story is Valid

We want to hear your whole story in your own words.  It is difficult to get the full story in 15 minutes! That is why Dawning Light dedicates an hour for a thorough Initial Intake to determine the causative factors of your health issues.  There are clues about how your unique situation began, how it has progressed, what seems to help and what makes it worse. We also take into consideration your goals for wellness in determining your healing plan.

What can I expect during my Initial Intake?

The Initial Intake is 1 hour in length and consists of taking a thorough history as well as clarifying your goals and therapeutic options.  At Dawning Light, we know that you need to feel heard, understood and respected in order to fully participate in your healing process. A thorough history is an essential to determine any information that may have been overlooked in the past, giving us clues to the roots of your concerns and presenting possible avenues for therapy.  At this appointment, therapeutic methods and options are presented while labs and imaging are discussed. Dr. Miller answers any questions you may have about your health and the healing process.

What happens during my Treatment Sessions?

Treatment sessions consist of muscle testing and gentle restorative body work to integrate body systems.  Various herbal tinctures, flower essences, trace minerals, gem elixirs, aromatherapy spray and/or homeopathic medicines are used to balance the immune, neurological, endocrine and metabolic systems.

What is expected of me?

A healthy interest in your wellbeing and the desire to get better. Dr. Miller understands that issues with our body can make us feel like we will never get better, even that there is no hope. That is why Dawning Light provides a positive and supportive environment because we know that as we get better within, the way we experience the world changes without.   Therefore, all we ask at the beginning is that you have a willingness to complete recommended visits and carry out home care plans.  In all aspects of your care, we strive for clear communication so that a complete circle of care is created, working together as a team.

Are labs and imaging used as a part of my treatment?

Dr. Miller orders labs and imaging when appropriate.  Dr. Miller uses specific tests to determine if you have issues with your gastrointestinal system, immune system, hematologic system, urinary and/or reproductive system.  He also orders labs to determine if you have food sensitivities, metabolic issues and nutrient deficiencies as well as genetic concerns such as single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP's).  With your permission, he will review your recent labs and imaging from other health care providers as a member of your health care team.  Dr. Miller may suggest labs through your primary care provider.  Many labs are covered under insurance.
